Ribbed Ruffle Scarf
For this scarf it took several tries to get the ruffles how I wanted them, but I love the way it turned out. It can be worn casually or because of the architectural detailing on the ruffles can be dressed up. In this pattern Iʼve included directions for both a dk weight and worsted weight yarns, which are soft and cozy next to the skin. Most of the scarf is a very simple ribbed pattern
and knits fairly fast. The ruffles contain increases, decreases and yarn overs. $ 5.00
Materials:
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca, 100g/215 yds(198 m) 2 skeins.
Color in the picture is #6228.
Needles: size 6 or to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 5 sts per inch in St st.
Finished size: 4 1/2” wide, 41” long without ruffles( they are 5 1/2” long each,
total length 52 ”). If you want a longer scarf; you will need another skein of
yarn.
Note: I have also knit this scarf with Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca(5 Skiens). I
used the same size needles, but cast on 46 sts, instead of 42sts. Finished
size: 4 1/2” wide, 57” long without ruffles( they are 5” long each, total length
87”). The instructions for 46 st count are given in parenthesis when
different for the 42 st count.
