Tulip Hat
While I was making flowers with eyelet ruffles for a pillow, I was trying different combinations of knit and purl rows and created the one that I liked so much I designed a hat using it. I used the eyelet ruffle at the beginning and then went into a 5 x 1 rib to give some stretch and texture to the body of the hat. I knit it with Blue Sky Suri Merino yarn because it has good stitch definition and it is so incredibly soft. The hat turned out so cute and I thought that the flower that started it all would be the perfect finishing touch.

Materials:
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino [60% baby suri,
40% merino; 164 yds per 100g skein] - 1 skein. Color in photo is #418, Dusk.
Needles: size 6/4.0mm circular needle, 16 inches long & 5 size 6/4.0mm double
pointed needles or size 6/4.0mm circular needle, 24 inches or longer for magic loop
method on the crown.
Other: Stitch marker
Gauge: 22 sts/28 rows = 4 inches in St st
Finished size: Preemie(baby, toddler, child) (shown in toddler size)
Head circumference: stretches 12-14(14-16, 16-18, 18-20) inches
Length: 5(6, 6.5, 7.5) inches
